All four Huntingdon Girls Football Club teams (U10, U11, U12 and U14) got together on Thursday 5th May for a special training session where we were joined by members of Peterborough United Women’s First Team!
It was fantastic to welcome Defenders Destiny Makanjuola and Elloise Copson, as well as Goalkeeper Katie Cooper, to Sapley Park where our players had the chance to ask them lots of questions and were given tickets to watch them in action.
Katie had this piece of advice to pass onto one of our goalkeepers: “Be confident, don’t doubt yourself and just go for it!”.
We would like to thank the POSH Women's players for taking the time to visit us, demonstrate some of their football skills and inspire our teams:
"I loved it, especially the penalty shoot out!"
"It was great...I really hope we can do it again, it was nice of them to come."
"I enjoyed taking penalties against Katie and am excited to have tickets to see them play, thank you for a great training session."
We are looking forward to heading to the Weston Homes Stadium on 20th May to watch Peterborough United Women face Hashtag United FC in the HerGameToo Cup!
